Most people spend decades chasing success, only to realize they've been running in the wrong direction. I know, because I did it myself.
I spent 20 years building a company, thinking that if I worked hard enough, I'd reach a place of freedom. But even as a co-founder, I wasn't truly in control. I had partners, investors, and outside forces that dictated the direction of my own creation. Over time, I realized that even as a business owner, I wasn't free—I was trapped in a system I thought I had escaped.
Then, COVID hit. My wife and I were both working full-time while raising four kids at home, with no family support and no way out. It was an impossible situation. It broke us. But it also revealed a painful truth:
The way I had structured my life didn't work.
I couldn't be the kind of father I wanted to be and build a career that pulled me away from what mattered most. That's when I started thinking about integrity—not just in the sense of honesty, but in the sense of having a fully aligned life.
Realized Self is the result of that journey.
Why This Matters
For most of my life, I was doing what everyone says you should do:
- Work hard
- Climb the ladder
- Build something great
But what they don't tell you is that if you're climbing the wrong ladder, it doesn't matter how high you go.
Like many people, I spent years chasing a version of success that wasn't truly mine. And now, as a father, I see how easy it is to push my kids down the same path. For years, I encouraged them to get good grades, play sports, and follow the system—but now I realize that the system isn't preparing them for the future that awaits them.
The world is changing too fast for outdated success models to work. If my kids—or anyone else's—follow the same playbook, they're going to find themselves trapped.
That's why I can't wait any longer. My oldest son is 13, about to enter high school. He's standing at the starting line of a path that I no longer believe will serve him well. If I don't act now, he'll end up just like I did—wasting years before realizing what truly matters.
What Realized Self Stands For
Realized Self is about breaking free from outdated models of success and learning how to:
- Build a life of autonomy—where work, family, and purpose align
- Take control of time, money, and mindset—so you're not trapped by external forces
- Avoid the suffering of wasted potential—because I've seen firsthand how heartbreaking that is
My heart breaks when I see people—especially kids—trapped, not because they lack talent, but because they weren't given the right mental tools. I've been there. And I've spent years trying to break free.
This project is about making sure my kids—and every kid out there—don't have to spend 45 years figuring it out the hard way.
